Accor is expanding its presence in Albania with five planned hotels and the introduction of three additional brands to the country.

Swissotel Vlora

Handwritten Collection and Novotel will make their Albanian debuts in Tirana, while Swissôtel will enter the market through two new coastal properties in Qerret and Vlora.

The developments will join Accor’s existing Albanian portfolio, which includes Mövenpick Hotel Lalez Durres, Mercure Tirana and Green Coast Hotel MGallery Collection.

Albania welcomed 12.4 million international visitors in 2025 as the country continued to increase its profile as a European leisure destination.

Philippe Bijaoui, Chief Development Officer Europe & North Africa Premium, Midscale, Economy Brands at Accor, said: “Thanks to its natural beauty, authentic culture and rapidly improving tourism infrastructure, Albania is emerging as one of the most exciting hospitality markets in the region.

“Through partnerships with like-minded partners and experienced operators, our expansion trajectory will allow us to further strengthen our position in the country and continue to meet the evolving needs of domestic and international travellers.”

Hotel NOÉM Tirana – Handwritten Collection is expected to open later in 2026 in the Don Bosco neighbourhood, approximately two kilometres from Skanderbeg Square.

Developed by local entrepreneur Emiljan Moçka, the hotel will comprise 32 rooms alongside a restaurant, bar and parking facilities.

A second Handwritten Collection property, Adorn Hotel Tirana, is planned for 2027.

Located close to Selman Stërmasi Stadium and Tirana Park, the 25-room hotel will use Albania’s tradition of olive cultivation as inspiration for its design and guest experience.

Novotel Tirana is scheduled to open in spring 2027 in the Blloku district.

The newly built 109-room property will feature a rooftop restaurant and bar, lobby lounge and café, children’s area, multifunctional meeting facilities, fitness centre and underground parking.

It is being developed in partnership with Elona Gjondedaj and will be operated by Jona Hotels Management.

Accor will also introduce Swissôtel to Albania through two resort developments.

Swissôtel Qerret is expected to open in 2028 with 374 rooms across seven storeys.

Facilities are planned to include several bars and restaurants, conference space, outdoor swimming pools and wellness amenities.

Swissôtel Vlora will follow in Radhimë in 2030.

The 99-room premium seaside resort is being developed in partnership with real estate and investment business ULK Invest Sh.p.k. and will include a range of leisure facilities.

The five additions will increase the breadth of Accor’s offer in Albania across collection, midscale and premium brands, while extending its presence beyond Tirana into the country’s growing coastal tourism market.

All of the new properties will participate in Accor’s ALL booking and loyalty programme when they open.
