Handwritten Collection, Accor’s collection of characterful and independently inspired hotels, has reached a significant milestone with the opening of its 50th property worldwide.

Launched in 2023, the brand has expanded rapidly and now operates in 20 countries, with a further 50-plus hotels currently in development as it continues its international growth strategy.
Designed for travellers seeking authentic and personalised experiences, Handwritten Collection brings together distinctive hotels where the personality of the host and the spirit of the destination remain central to the guest experience. The collection focuses on preserving the identity of individual properties while providing the benefits of being part of a global hospitality network.
The milestone follows a series of recent openings including Hotel Rathauspark Wien – Handwritten Collection in Austria, Hotel Shanghai Hongqiao – Handwritten Collection in China and Château de Mazan – Handwritten Collection in France.
Jean-Yves Minet, Global Brand President, Midscale & Economy at Accor, said: “Handwritten Collection celebrates individuality in hospitality and the power of human connection.
“Reaching 50 hotels reflects a growing desire for stays that feel personal, sincere and shaped by real stories — as well as the opportunity for independent hotels to find a home within a global collection brand, connecting with an international audience of story-seeking travellers.”
The brand’s growth continues to gather momentum, with more than 50 properties currently in the development pipeline. Each new hotel is selected for its unique character while adhering to quality and experience standards that ensure consistency across the collection.
Camil Yazbeck, Global Chief Development Officer, Premium, Midscale & Economy at Accor, said: “Reaching 50 hotels so quickly is an incredible achievement, but it is only the beginning of the journey.
“With another 50-plus hotels currently in the development pipeline and many more under negotiation, Handwritten Collection is seeing strong momentum across markets worldwide.”
Among the most notable upcoming additions is Treasure Island TI Las Vegas – Handwritten Collection, which will mark the brand’s debut in Las Vegas and become only its second property in the United States.
The collection is also preparing to enter the UK market with The Queen at Chester Hotel – Handwritten Collection. Following a major renovation, the historic property is expected to open later this year and will become the brand’s first UK hotel.
Other future openings include Hotel Aeschi Interlaken in Switzerland, Palais am Schlossgarten Merseburg in Germany and Satori Resort in Bali, further strengthening the brand’s presence across Europe and Asia.
Jean-Yves Minet added: “This milestone is made even more meaningful by the diversity of the collection itself, reaffirming the strength of the brand — from historic residences and cultural landmarks to contemporary retreats — each offering a distinct expression of place and personality.
“As we continue to grow, our ambition remains clear: to create a collection where hoteliers’ individuality is not only preserved but elevated, and where guests are invited into experiences that feel genuinely human, locally rooted and emotionally resonant.”
