Heartwood Collection is to reopen The Boot in Histon on Thursday 27 August following a £250,000 refurbishment of the community pub.

The Boot will reopen from 4pm following improvements to its interiors and outdoor areas as part of Heartwood Collection’s wider programme of investment across its existing pub estate.
The refurbishment has included refreshed interiors, updated signage and new soft furnishings.
Outside, new furniture has been introduced alongside landscaping and planting designed to improve the gardens and provide spaces that can be used throughout the year.
Heartwood Collection, which is backed by Alchemy Partners, said the investment forms part of its long-term approach to maintaining and developing its existing pubs alongside continued expansion.
Richard Ferrier, CEO of Heartwood Collection, said: “Our investment in our existing pubs reflects our long-term commitment to the communities we serve.
“As we continue to grow, it’s equally important that we reinvest in our existing pubs to ensure they look beautiful, feel welcoming and continue delivering the high-quality food and hospitality our guests expect.”
The reopening will be accompanied by a programme of events beginning on Thursday 27 August, with live music from 4pm and a roaming jester among the opening-day entertainment.
Live music will continue every Friday and Saturday between 28 August and 19 September.
Traditional Morris dancing will take place between 5pm and 6pm on Friday 28 August, while family-focused farmyard experiences are planned for Saturday 29 August and Saturday 5 September.
The reopening weekend will also see the launch of a craft fair featuring local makers and creators.
The Boot is introducing weekly Saturday dog walks from 29 August, departing at 10am and providing an opportunity for local dog owners to meet and explore the surrounding area together.
Aliz Koloh, General Manager of The Boot, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to The Boot.
“We’ve created a space that feels fresh and refreshed, while keeping all the character and quirky touches guests love. We’ve got a fantastic programme of events lined up for the reopening, and the whole team can’t wait to see the pub buzzing again and enjoy the new spaces with our guests.”
The pub will continue to serve seasonally changing menus using ethically sourced ingredients following its reopening.
Heartwood Collection holds a three-star rating from the Sustainable Restaurant Association.
The Boot will reopen in Histon at 4pm on Thursday 27 August.
