Technology increasingly shapes how people experience hospitality and how inclusive and accessible workplaces operate. When applications are designed and implemented with all users in mind, they enable greater participation among guests and employees alike.

Techality has joined Accessible Hospitality Alliance (aha) as its latest Service Partner Member, bringing firsthand experience of hospitality and technology to the alliance’s growing community.
Founded by hospitality operator of over 30 years turned technology consultant Ashoak Lakhaney, Techality supports hospitality, contract catering and facilities management businesses in selecting, implementing and managing technology that improves both operational performance and user experience.
Its work includes technology strategy, procurement, project management, feedback systems, data reporting, infrastructure and user support.
Central to its approach is an understanding that technology must work for everyone who experiences and interacts with it.
This is particularly relevant to accessibility. Technology has the potential to remove barriers for both customers and employees, but only when accessibility is considered from the outset rather than as an afterthought. Different needs, abilities and ways of interacting with technology should inform every stage of design, selection and implementation.
Techality begins by examining the operation, the customer journey and the people involved before recommending a solution. Its team then supports implementation, training and ongoing use.

Ashoak Lakhaney, Founder of Techality, said: “Having spent more than 30 years in hospitality operations before moving into technology, I’ve experienced first-hand how difficult it can be to introduce meaningful systems that genuinely work for everyone.
“Accessibility isn’t something that should be bolted on at the end of a project. It should be considered from day one.
“At Techality, we always start by understanding the people, the operation and the customer and employee journey before working on a technology solution. Joining Accessible Hospitality Alliance feels like a natural fit because we share the belief that hospitality should be accessible, inclusive and welcoming to all.
“I’m looking forward to learning from fellow members and contributing wherever we can,”
Techality’s service partner membership will help operator members translate accessibility insights into practical technology decisions, ensuring systems, platforms and digital experiences support the widest possible range of users.
That exchange is central to aha’s work. The alliance brings operators, service partners and people with lived experience together to develop a more informed understanding of accessibility and turn it into practical action.

Robin Sheppard, Chair of Accessible Hospitality Alliance, said: “Techality’s approach to more accessible hospitality empowers people to gain greater value from technology investments by ensuring solutions are designed around the needs of those using them.
“Ashoak leads this approach, and I commend him for doing so.”
As technology becomes more deeply embedded in hospitality, accessibility cannot be treated as an addition made after systems have been selected.
Techality’s membership strengthens the expertise available within aha and supports a shared ambition to develop hospitality technology that is effective, inclusive and mindful of every user.
