The Ski Lodge is to open a 36-room boutique hotel in the centre of Verbier in December 2026.

The independently owned property will combine accommodation with a spa, restaurant and late-night bar, with a focus on the hours guests spend away from the slopes.
The hotel has been founded by Frédéric Mydske, a real estate developer who grew up skiing in Verbier and previously founded Swiss aparthotel brand BASE.
General Manager Joséphine Rausis, who grew up in the valley below Verbier, will lead the property following a hospitality career spanning Europe and Latin America.
Accommodation will comprise 18 Cosy rooms, 12 Deluxe rooms, four Mountain Suites and two Mountain Suite Terraces.
Many rooms will include a bunk nook above the king-size bed, allowing accommodation for additional guests, while the south-facing suites will overlook the Grand Combin and Mont-Rogneux.
Televisions have deliberately been omitted from the guestrooms as part of the hotel’s focus on rest and disconnecting from day-to-day routines.
Rausis said: “What sets The Ski Lodge apart is the experience itself. It’s a deliberately intimate, 36-key boutique hotel centred around quiet, understated luxury.
“By design, there are no TVs in the rooms. We want guests to properly disconnect, be present in the mountains, and enjoy a different kind of stay than they would find elsewhere in Verbier.”
The hotel’s spa will include an indoor swimming pool, cold plunge, Japanese Onsen jacuzzi, sauna, hammam and three treatment rooms alongside a fitness facility.
Day passes will also be available to non-residents.
Food and beverage will include The Peak, led by Peruvian-born Head Chef Mario Paiva.
Paiva brings 12 years of international experience across Peru, the United States, Bermuda, Dubai and Switzerland, with the restaurant drawing on techniques and ingredients from across the Americas.
The Listening Room will operate as the hotel’s bar, opening to residents, visitors and local customers from early evening until late, with cocktails, wine, aperitivo dishes and weekend DJs.
Mydske said: “I grew up skiing these mountains, and every good day in Verbier ends the same way – tired, but happy, and looking for somewhere good to land. The Ski Lodge is the kind of hotel guests come back to, for the evening as much as the morning.”
The interiors, by London-based designer Sophie Kogevinas, take inspiration from the traditional mayens of the Valais region, using aged larch, stone and natural materials.
The development also incorporates renewable district heating, photovoltaic panels, underfloor heating and engineered ventilation systems.
The property holds Minergie certification and is working towards Switzerland’s Swisstainable tourism certification.
The Ski Lodge will operate from December until the end of April before reopening from early June until the end of September for the summer season.
Bookings opened on 28 September ahead of the hotel welcoming its first guests in December.
