The Plough Inn Reopens in Denbigh Following £200,000 Refurbishment

October 1, 2026

The Plough Inn in Denbigh has reopened following a £200,000 refurbishment funded by licensee Emma Lavery and Admiral Taverns.

Plough Inn Denbigh

The Bridge Street pub officially reopened on 26 September following work designed to modernise the property while retaining features including its traditional wooden flooring.

Internally, the refurbishment has included new decoration throughout, alongside televisions showing Sky Sports and TNT Sports.

External improvements include new windows and signage, repainting and an extension to the decking in the beer garden.

Lavery took over as licensee earlier this year after having worked at the pub for a number of years.

She also has a longstanding family connection with the Plough Inn, which was previously operated by her grandparents for more than 30 years.

Lavery said: “Watching the pub be transformed to its full potential is something I’ve always hoped for. It is looking amazing, and I’m so pleased to see the vision come to life.

“I can’t wait to welcome all our pub family back and hopefully add some more to the mix! The Plough is our home base which my family built over so many years and I hope to continue and create that for many more of our locals. I want to thank everyone who has made this possible!”

The pub marked its reopening with live music and drinks offers.

A programme of regular entertainment is also planned, including quiz nights, pool and darts nights, supported by a newly installed darts system.

Lavery also intends to use the pub to support fundraising initiatives for local causes.

The drinks offer includes draught lagers and ciders alongside spirits and soft drinks.

Kelly Kerr, Business Development Manager at Admiral Taverns, said: “The renovation at the Plough Inn is looking brilliant, and it’s wonderful to see so much dedication go into giving the pub a fresh lease of life.

“Emma has done a tremendous job since taking over a few months ago, proudly continuing the legacy her family built here. On behalf of myself and everyone at Admiral Taverns, I would like wish Emma and the whole team every success for the future.”

Admiral Taverns operates approximately 1,350 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales.
