The Round of Beef in Halesowen has reopened following an investment of more than £364,600.

The Highfield Crescent pub officially reopened on Friday 11 September following a refurbishment of its interior and outside areas.
The venue forms part of Proper Pubs, the community wet-led division of Admiral Taverns, which operates more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales.
Local operator Brogan Graham has taken charge of The Round of Beef, bringing previous experience of running pubs and links to the surrounding area through her home in nearby Oldbury.
Inside, the refurbishment has introduced new décor throughout alongside upgraded facilities for customers watching live sport.
The layout incorporates distinct areas designed for regular customers, sports fans and community groups, enabling the pub to trade across different parts of the day.
Outside, a new beer garden has been created with patio seating and heating for up to 40 customers.
The space is intended to accommodate community events, family occasions and outdoor trading.
Graham said: “It has been fantastic welcoming customers into The Round of Beef over the past week. It’s a real community pub where everyone knows everyone and the response from locals has been incredibly positive.
“I would like to thank the whole community for their generous support with this new venture.
“We really want the pub to support the community – we’re looking for a local pool and darts team, and we’ll be continuing our weekly live music and karaoke for people to enjoy.”
The Round of Beef will also run a programme of live music, karaoke, quizzes and pool nights.
Graham plans to collect food for a local foodbank and raise funds towards the installation of a defibrillator at the pub.
Nicky Bellingham, Business Development Manager for Proper Pubs, said: “It’s been a real pleasure to officially welcome Brogan to the Round of Beef, and the finished refurbishment looks fantastic.
“It has been wonderful to see the doors reopen and the local community returning to enjoy this great pub once again.
“On behalf of myself and the whole Proper Pubs team, we would like to congratulate Brogan on her start at the Round of Beef, and wish her the very best of luck for the future.”
Proper Pubs runs a programme of community and fundraising initiatives across its estate.
During Easter 2026, its pubs collected 21,619 Easter eggs for local charities. In 2025, operators also collected 17,500 Christmas selection boxes and raised £80,255 for Admiral Taverns’ charity partner Claire House Children’s Hospice.
The business has also supported foodbanks across the UK and participated in a defibrillator installation campaign.
Proper Pubs was named a finalist in the Best Community Pub category at the Great British Publican Awards 2026, having previously received Community Pub Operator at the Publican Awards in 2024.
