The opening forms part of the continued development of Crazy Bear Beaconsfield, which has undergone a series of changes under a new senior leadership team during 2026.
The kitchen is led by Head Chef Pete Gray, whose career includes working as Executive Head Chef at Heston Blumenthal’s Michelin-starred The Hinds Head in Bray, Berkshire.
Fable’s menu combines familiar British ingredients with contemporary techniques and flavour combinations.
Dishes include grilled octopus with chorizo jam, saffron aioli and sourdough, alongside roasted cod served with a mussel and cider velouté.
The menu also includes a one-kilogram tomahawk steak designed for sharing, accompanied by peppercorn sauce, chips and baby watercress.
Further mains include dry-aged bavette and honey-glazed pumpkin with herb gnocchi.
Shane Turner-Hill, General Manager at Crazy Bear Beaconsfield, said: “Crazy Bear has a rich heritage and Fable reflects that history. We’re proud of our history, but we’re not interested in living off it.
“Fable demonstrates where Crazy Bear goes next, and having Pete in charge of the kitchen says a lot about our ambitions.
“Fable is all about great ingredients, great cooking, and a kitchen team bursting with creative talent and skill.
“The restaurant is a reflection of who we are too – down-to-earth and fun, with just the right amount of eccentricity and rebellion.
“A significant investment into Beaconsfield itself, we want to give our local community somewhere to enjoy and be proud of.”
The launch follows several developments at Crazy Bear Beaconsfield during the year.
The hotel’s pool and outdoor space were refurbished during the summer, followed by the opening of private karaoke room The Studio in August.
A new private dining room, The Cabin, was subsequently introduced, providing space for up to 20 guests for private dining, celebrations and corporate events.
Crazy Bear Beaconsfield also operates Hom Thai, serving Thai cuisine.
The group opened its Beaconsfield hotel and restaurants in 2002, following the establishment of its original property in Oxfordshire.
