UK’s First JdV by Hyatt Hotel Planned for Oxfordshire

September 8, 2026

The UK’s first JdV by Hyatt hotel is set to open in Witney, Oxfordshire, by the end of 2026.

Oxford Witney Hotel

Oxford Witney Hotel will undergo an extensive transformation before joining the Hyatt lifestyle brand, with owner CL Capital appointing InnPractice to manage and operate the property.

The project is being developed under a franchise agreement with a Hyatt affiliate and will see InnPractice reposition the hotel as an upscale lifestyle destination.

Located around 15 miles west of Oxford, the 130-bedroom hotel will draw on the character and heritage of Witney while providing access to Oxfordshire and the wider Cotswolds.

JdV by Hyatt, whose name is inspired by the French phrase ‘joie de vivre’, comprises independent hotels designed around their individual neighbourhoods and sense of place.

The Witney property will introduce that approach to the UK through interiors and guest experiences inspired by the town’s historic wool and blanket-making industry.

Design references will draw on Cotswold wool traditionally washed and fulled in the River Windrush before being woven into blankets in Witney and exported internationally.

Further details will take inspiration from the hand-crafted principles of the Arts and Crafts movement.

The transformed hotel will include a restaurant and bar sourcing produce from local suppliers.

Flexible meetings and events facilities will accommodate up to 90 guests, while the property plans to establish links with local makers and businesses.

Graham Norris, Managing Partner at InnPractice, said: “This is a landmark moment for both InnPractice and for JdV by Hyatt’s arrival in the UK.

“Oxford Witney Hotel is a compelling setting for the brand’s debut: a characterful market town with its own identity, strong connections to Oxford and the Cotswolds, and real potential to become part of the local social fabric.”

Anna Corkill, RVP Development UK & Ireland at Hyatt, said: “Bringing JdV by Hyatt to the UK is an important milestone for the brand and a natural fit for Witney – a destination with a strong identity and sense of place.

“Together with CL Capital and InnPractice, we are creating a hotel that reflects the character of the local community while giving guests a distinctive new way to experience Oxfordshire.”

InnPractice will support the property through its operational and commercial team and proprietary InnSights platform, which provides hotel owners with consolidated financial, operational and guest experience performance data.

The hotel management business was launched in 2025 and works with owners, investors, international hotel brands and independent properties.

Oxford Witney Hotel is expected to reopen as part of JdV by Hyatt by the end of 2026.
