The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts is set to open The First Cortina, a new five-star hotel in Cortina d’Ampezzo, in early December 2026.
Located on Corso Italia, the property has undergone a complete renovation led by Studio Marincola Architects, with the transformation designed around conservation, wellbeing and a strong connection to the surrounding Dolomites.
The hotel will comprise 76 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony overlooking the UNESCO-protected mountain landscape.
Materials including Dolomia stone and fir wood have been incorporated throughout the building, while a continuous ribbon of glass panels has been designed to bring natural light into the property and frame views of the mountains.
At the top of the accommodation offer is the 140 sq m three-bedroom Enrosadira Penthouse.
Named after the natural phenomenon that turns the Dolomites pink at sunset, the residence will include a 50 sq m private terrace, sauna, Turkish bath, living room, dining space and fully equipped kitchen.
Guests will also have the option of meals prepared by a private chef.
Further accommodation categories include the Wellness Suite Terrace View, which provides direct access to a private mountain-facing terrace, and the Jacuzzi Suite View Balcony, featuring an in-room Jacuzzi positioned towards the surrounding landscape.
A collection of Family Suites will also be available.
Interior finishes across selected rooms will include leather detailing, Saint Laurent marble and water-vapour fireplaces.
Food and beverage facilities will include Zuma on the ground floor, offering contemporary Japanese cuisine alongside aperitifs, dinner, live music and DJ sets around its central bar.
Velo, the hotel’s signature restaurant, will focus on Italian cuisine and operate throughout the day from breakfast through to afternoon tea.
The restaurant will also produce artisanal pastries and chocolates in-house.
Wellness facilities will centre on the two-floor REVĪVŌ Spa, designed by Gherardi Architetti and drawing on the approach of The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts’ sister wellness brand.
Facilities will include a panoramic swimming pool extending partially outdoors through sliding glass doors, treatment rooms, a sauna, traditional hammam and an outdoor relaxation area.
A wider wellness programme will be supported by a fully equipped gym, hair salon and nail and beauty treatments.
The First Cortina will also include a dedicated Ski Room with equipment storage and access to services including ski and alpine guides, instructors and equipment hire.
Winter and summer equipment will be available, ranging from skis and snowboards to hiking and trekking gear, while an e-mountain bike will provide another option for exploring the surrounding area.
The hotel’s location on Corso Italia places it close to Cortina’s shops, restaurants and social venues as well as the surrounding ski lifts.
The opening will further expand The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts’ European portfolio and introduce its Curated Journeys approach to the Italian Dolomites.
The First Cortina is scheduled to welcome guests from early December 2026.
