Soho House is set to open Soho Ranch House Sonoma in 2027 as part of a growing pipeline of hotel development across California’s Sonoma County.
The new property will occupy 350 acres at the base of Hood Mountain near Kenwood and comprise 50 cottages and villas.
Facilities will include farm-to-table dining, an on-site vineyard and a Soho Health Club incorporating two outdoor swimming pools and a programme of wellness activities.
The development is located around 20 minutes from Santa Rosa and Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport, with access to the wineries, restaurants and outdoor attractions of the Kenwood and Glen Ellen area.
The Soho House project forms part of a wider wave of hospitality investment across Sonoma County, with new properties from international brands, independent operators and emerging concepts scheduled through 2028.
The Little Bohemian is expected to open in Occidental in early 2027 with 13 guestrooms and four Nordic-designed ÖÖD mirrored cabins.
Its facilities will include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, saunas and an outdoor firepit area, with the property positioned around nature-led stays in western Sonoma County.
Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park is meanwhile progressing a $1 billion expansion.
Its second phase opened in May, adding 144,000 sq ft of gaming space, a poker room and sports bar alongside new food and beverage concepts.
These include AYA, led by chef Roy Ellamar and Jennifer Murphy-Ellamar, and SoCo Dough Co.
Further phases will add a second hotel tower with 200 luxury rooms and an adults-only swimming pool in 2027, followed by a 3,500-seat entertainment venue in 2028.
Caesars Republic Sonoma County is also scheduled to open in 2027 through a partnership between Dry Creek Rancheria and Caesars Entertainment.
The redevelopment of River Rock Casino will create an integrated resort overlooking Alexander Valley with 100 guestrooms, a spa and several food and beverage venues.
Plans include a steakhouse, Asian restaurant, quick-service concept and wine bar with outdoor seating overlooking the surrounding vineyards.
Appellation Petaluma is expected to follow in 2028 as the second Sonoma County property from the culinary-led hotel brand founded by chef Charlie Palmer and Christopher Hunsberger.
The four-storey development will comprise 56 guestrooms and a signature restaurant centred on regional produce.
A rooftop overlooking the Petaluma River and surrounding landscape will form a major element of the property.
Hyatt is also planning Hyatt Place Sonoma Wine Country in Rohnert Park for 2028.
The 165-room hotel will include guestrooms designed with separate areas for sleeping, working and relaxing, alongside suites overlooking the Sonoma hills and interconnecting accommodation for families.
The latest developments add to Sonoma County’s existing hospitality offer across its wine, culinary and outdoor tourism markets, while bringing a mix of international hotel brands and smaller independent concepts to the region.
