The Standard, London has appointed Sophie Bratt as Head of Bars, strengthening the food and beverage leadership team at its King’s Cross hotel.

Bratt will take responsibility for the bar programmes across Sweeties, Double Standard, Decimo and Isla, overseeing the creative direction of the drinks offer and wider guest experience.

She brings around a decade of experience across London hospitality, having worked at venues including The Roof Gardens, Sexy Fish, Harvey Nichols, OXO Tower and Nobu.

Most recently, Bratt joined The Roof Gardens as Bars Manager in June 2025 after leaving Nobu Hotel London Portman Square at the end of 2024.

Her earlier career included leading the bar at Sexy Fish, where she oversaw an extensive Japanese whisky programme alongside the wider cocktail operation.

Bratt was named Bar Manager of the Year at the 2024 CLASS Bar Awards while serving as Bar Manager at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square.

Her new remit at The Standard will span several distinct food and beverage concepts, from late-night Sweeties to Double Standard, Isla and rooftop restaurant Decimo.

The appointment follows the arrival of Murray Scott as General Manager of The Standard, London, announced this week as the hotel continues to strengthen its senior leadership team.

Scott joined from The Hoxton Holborn and now oversees the 266-room King’s Cross property, including its wider food, beverage and cultural offer.

Bratt is also a co-founder of Community Spirit, an industry-led non-profit established following the Grenfell Tower tragedy which has supported organisations including Hospitality Action, A Good Night Out Campaign and Under One Sky.

Sophie Bratt, Head of Bars at The Standard, London, said: “What excites me about The Standard is the freedom to be creative. It’s in the hotel’s DNA, and you feel it across everything we do.

“Sweeties, Double Standard, Decimo and Isla each have their own distinct personality, and I’m looking forward to bringing that individuality to life through cocktails that feel considered, distinctive and genuinely fun.”

Her appointment adds dedicated bar leadership to The Standard, London at the same time as the hotel develops its wider management structure under Scott.
