Montreal sports brasserie LaCage is to open its first UK restaurant on Kensington High Street on 4 September.

The opening will mark the brand’s first move into an English-speaking market and follows more than 40 years of operation in Canada, where LaCage has grown to more than 40 restaurants.
Part of Québec-based hospitality business Groupe Grandio, LaCage has also recently expanded into France.
The London restaurant will combine live sport with a food and drink offer influenced by Montréal, with the concept designed to provide a restaurant-led experience alongside screenings of major sporting events.
The menu will feature Québec dishes including Poutine Classique with cheese curds and poutine sauce, alongside 24-hour Smoked Beef Short Rib with creamy polenta.
Further dishes will include a Smoked Short Rib Burger with Jarlsberg and maple bacon, Rib Eye Steak seasoned with Montréal steak spice, Lobster Rolls and Montréal-style pizza with hot honey.
Desserts will include Beavertails, Montréal-style doughnuts served with cinnamon sugar, maple ice cream and dark chocolate sauce.
Canadian influences will continue across the drinks menu.
Cocktails will include a Montréal Mule made with Canadian Club, ginger and maple syrup, a Maple Old Fashioned and a Montréal Spritz combining maple whisky, Aperol, Cava and black cherry bitters.
The restaurant will also serve a Montréal Caesar made with vodka, Clamato, Montréal spice and maple bacon.
Canadian beers including Molson Canadian and Moosehead will also feature.
The Kensington restaurant introduces a new LaCage format developed specifically for London.
Set across two floors, different areas within the venue will be able to show multiple sporting fixtures simultaneously.
The programme will cover football, rugby, cricket, Formula 1, hockey, darts and major international sporting tournaments.
Jean Bédard, President and CEO of Groupe Grandio and founder of LaCage, said: “London felt like the right place for the next chapter of La Cage. It’s a city that loves great restaurants, great sport and, most importantly, coming together. That’s something we understand.
“La Cage has always been about much more than watching a game, it’s the food, the drinks, the people you’re with and the atmosphere around it.
“We’re excited to bring that experience to London and show people what La Cage is all about.”
The opening also forms part of Groupe Grandio’s wider international ambitions for the brand, with the Kensington restaurant intended to act as a flagship for potential further expansion.
Bédard added: “La Cage has been part of life in Québec for more than 40 years, but London is our first step into an English speaking market and an opportunity to introduce the brand to a completely new audience.
“We have big ambitions for La Cage internationally, but our focus right now is Kensington. We want to build something that Londoners genuinely love and want to come back to.
“If we can do that here, it gives us an exciting foundation for what could come next.”
LaCage Kensington will open on 4 September 2026.
