Norman’s co-founder Elliott Kaye is to open his first solo venture, Marrion’s, on Hackney’s Morning Lane on Thursday 10 September 2026.

The neighbourhood bar and restaurant will open from Thursday to Saturday evenings, with an additional Sunday brunch service, offering guests the option to stop for a drink at the bar or stay for dinner.
Kaye previously worked at Lyle’s, The French House and Leroy before co-founding Norman’s in 2020.
He said: “I wanted Marrion’s to be somewhere I’d actually want to go – somewhere you can have a drink, eat something good and feel at home. Nothing too fussy or pretentious.
“I’ve always loved places like The Odeon in New York: warm, convivial and a bit buzzy. Opening in Hackney felt like a no-brainer. Morning Lane has something special about it, and the energy between Well Street and Hackney Central felt like the perfect fit for what we’re trying to do.”
The food will follow a similarly simple and nostalgic approach to Norman’s, with dishes priced between £6 and £16.
The menu will include Devilled Crab Rarebit; Pork Schnitzel Holstein with capers, anchovies and a fried egg; Moules Frites; Prawn Cocktail; and a classic Cheeseburger.
A selection of house sandwiches will also be available, including Kaye’s preferred Tuna Melt, alongside sides such as House Coleslaw, Fries with Malt Vinegar Mayo and Waldorf Salad.
Cocktails will be priced between £12 and £15 and will centre on classic serves prepared with a simplified approach.
A house martini will rotate monthly, beginning with the Puritan, made using Yellow Chartreuse.
The drinks offer will also include a selection of Spanish vermouths, while the wine list will feature bottles sourced through growers and importers including Tutto Wines, Otros Vinos, Newcomer and Sager & Wine.
Wine by the glass will start at £5, with bottles from £30.
Victoria Málaga will be the venue’s sole draught beer, served in Spanish cañas-style glasses.
Sunday Brunch
Marrion’s will open for brunch on Sundays with dishes including Boiled Eggs with Anchovy Soldiers, Smoked Ham with Sage-Fried Eggs, a Fried Fish Sandwich, Lox Bagel and Baked Eggs with Vodka Sauce.
Melon with Cottage Cheese and Cured Meats will also feature, accompanied by filter coffee from local roaster Dark Arts Coffee.
The restaurant has been designed as an intimate, low-lit neighbourhood space with bespoke wooden tables, vintage mirrors and a counter overlooking the kitchen through a serving hatch.
Many members of the team have previously worked with Kaye and will wear uniforms supplied by Danish clothing brand Another Aspect.
Marrion’s will open on Morning Lane, Hackney, on 10 September 2026.
