The Clink Events, the external catering service run by innovative prisoner training scheme The Clink Charity, will be partnering with Royal Museums Greenwich as one of the eligible caterers from 2022.
Royal Museums Greenwich comprises Cutty Sark, the National Maritime Museum, the Queen’s House, Royal Observatory Greenwich and the Peter Harrison Planetarium.
With unique spaces available to hire across every site, the Royal Museums Greenwich provide standout settings for events of all kinds.
This historic collection of museum and gallery spaces showcases pioneering architecture, British art and history, and scientific discovery and exploration – all with a local park-side setting.
Commenting on the partnership, Jonny Whitfield, The Clink Events Managing Director said: “We are very excited about being an approved caterer to Royal Museums Greenwich. This is a fantastic, world renowned collection of museums and event spaces which we’re honoured to be working with in 2022. The collection of 5 venues which includes the Cutty Sark, National Maritime Museum, Queens House, Peter Harrison Planetarium and Royal Observatory are all spectacular and unique venues offering a range of versatile and memorable event spaces.
“This gives a fantastic opportunity for us to train more prisoners and vulnerable disadvantaged adults to work on our events. We look forward to starting our partnership with Royal Museums Greenwich.”
Claire Bastin from Royal Museums Greenwich said, “Royal Museums of Greenwich are delighted to partner with Clink Events as their vision and goals fit perfectly with our own diversity and inclusion objectives.
Their seasonal and sustainable approach to creating exciting menus alongside delivering exceptional service is extremely impressive and we look forward to working with them to create memorable experiences for our clients.”
As part of its commitment to rehabilitation, 100% of the profits made from The Clink Events catering at Royal Museum Greenwich will be used to help fund The Clink Charity’s training projects. The Clink Charity shows what can be achieved when society collectively engages to give second chances in life to those who want, need and deserve them.
About The Clink Events
Part of a much wider scheme, the food served by The Clink Events is prepared by women prisoners training in the central production kitchen unit at HMP Downview in Surrey. In order to offer a full service, from the food creation through to serving at the event, Clink Events has established a collaborative partnership with Centrepoint, the UK’s leading young homeless charity, to help young, disadvantaged people get their foot on the career ladder.
The students from the Centrepoint charity work towards gaining their City and Guilds NVQ level 1 in hospitality over 50 hours to equip them with the confidence, knowledge and skill to serve guests food and drink and ultimately gain full time employment.
