The sheer joy of attending an industry event for the first time in more months than most of the 66 attendees cared to recollect was evident throughout The Clink Charity Hospitality Golf Day 2021, in association with Meiko UK, held last week at The Belfry.
As guests assembled the reality and appreciation of the fact that a day of hospitality was upon them was palpable. Greetings at first were hesitant, do you shake hands, fist bump, whatever, people just got on with returning to being social.
The Belfry ensured upon entry that everything was well laid out and easy to follow ensuring that people felt comfortable and were in safe hands.
The Warwick Suite was headquarters for the day and had more than sufficient space for people to spread out as much or as little as they felt comfortable with. Tea, Coffee and bacon rolls were available as registration for all golfers was underway and teams were briefed by the golf professionals overseeing the day prior to tee times.
The players were transported from The Warwick Suite to the first tee on The Derby Course and the golf was underway as players drove down the first fairway.
Piers Zangana from Susa Comms and Chris Moore from The Clink followed play from a buggy and captured the thoughts of many on camera and video. The video featuring some of the players, and some of the dinner guests can be seen above. Many well known industry faces and names most readers will recognise are featured.
As the golfers returned from their round’s The Warwick Suite was transformed to the 19th and many memorable moments were being replayed over a few drinks before dinner.
Dinner was served in The Warwick Suite at 19.30 and the chefs at The Belfry delivered a three course meal fit for any gathering of hospitality people.
- Starter: Han Hock & Pea Pressing
- Main: Supreme of Chicken, Leek & Tarragon Mousseline, Rosti Potato, Truffle Jus
