By Denis Sheehan FIH: The industry’s Master of Ceremonies soon to be accompanied by Keenbot T5.
If you have enjoyed the privilege of attending many of our industry’s finest events, you will likely also have applauded Peter Hancock FIH as Master of Ceremonies. With over 40 years in the hospitality industry, 21 of which as CEO of Pride of Britain Hotels, Hancock not only adds gravitas to events, but also a good measure of humour.
We are therefore delighted to announce that Peter Hancock will be Master of Ceremonies for this year’s Institute of Hospitality Golf Day, in Partnership with Meiko UK. Which as always, takes place at The Belfry, the only golf resort in the world to have hosted four Ryder Cups.
Following the day’s play is a sumptuous dinner in the evening where an auction will raise funds to support the incredible work done by the Institute of Hospitality Youth Council. The auction will be hosted by Hancock, which doubtless will ensure even more is raised.
Robert Richardson FIH MI, CEO, Institute of Hospitality knows Peter Hancock well and told us when he heard the news: “Sharing a stage with Peter at various IoH events over recent years has been a career highlight, I couldn’t ask for a better master of ceremonies for our golf day dinner and auction.”
We are also delighted to announce that the day has a new sponsor, our service sponsor, SoftBank Robotics. SoftBank Robotics are bringing a very special assistant for Hancock in delivery of the awards – The Winning Team – Nearest the Pin – Longest Drive. The awards will be brought to the stage and presented to Hancock and the individual award sponsors by the Keenbot T5.
Keenbot T5 is one of SoftBank Robotics range of collaborative robots that help with a wide range of activities in hospitality, including delivering food and drinks to restaurant tables, and assisting with room service. Presenting golf awards now in the process of being added to Keenbot’s functionality.
James Ravenscroft, Head of Sales, EMEA, Softbank Robotics said of the partnership: “We are truly honoured to partner with this esteemed event for such a good cause, and have the ability to show how our cutting-edge robotics technology can assist in a changing hospitality landscape. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a prestigious occasion.”
Months ahead of schedule golf teams were sold out. There are still some seats available for the dinner, golf awards, and auction in the evening. Dinner is a sumptuous occasion with three exquisite courses delivered by The Belfry’s Executive Chef, Robert Bates, and his talented brigade. The event takes place at The Belfry on Thursday 9th May 2024. Dinner is available at a cost per person of £85 + VAT per person.
