Radisson Hotel Group has added four properties in Stockholm and Copenhagen to its Verified Net Zero programme as it works towards a target of 100 hotels by 2030.

The expansion takes the group’s Verified Net Zero portfolio to nine hotels across the Nordics and UK and extends the programme into larger meetings, events and conference properties.
The latest hotels are Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, Stockholm, including Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre; Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, Stockholm; Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel, Stockholm-Arlanda; and Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Copenhagen.
The launch follows the recent addition of three properties in Norway and represents the next stage in Radisson’s plans to expand the operating model across different types of existing hotels.
Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel has 414 rooms and suites and sits alongside Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre.
The congress centre provides 14,000 sq m of event space across 24 meeting rooms and can accommodate events for up to 3,000 delegates.
Its existing sustainability infrastructure includes 1,040 sq m of solar panels and a cooling system using water from the nearby Klara Sjö. The building holds LEED Gold certification.
Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel offers 15 meeting rooms, with its largest event space accommodating up to 180 guests.
Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel has 342 rooms and 24 meeting rooms with a total capacity of up to 771 people, while Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Copenhagen comprises 544 refurbished rooms, two restaurants, two bars and 14 meeting rooms capable of accommodating more than 2,000 guests.
The four additions are intended to demonstrate how the Verified Net Zero approach can be applied to established properties with substantial accommodation, food and beverage and conference operations.
Federico J. González, Global CEO of Radisson Hotel Group, said: “Growth and sustainability cannot be two separate conversations. If we want to build a stronger hospitality business for the long term, we need hotels that reduce their environmental impact while continuing to deliver for our guests, owners and people.
“What we have learned through Verified Net Zero gives us an opportunity to take that ambition further, and this expansion in Scandinavia is another important step as we work towards 100 Verified Net Zero hotels by 2030.”
The programme addresses emissions from hotel energy use alongside operational and supply-chain emissions.
Measures include using 100% renewable energy through electrification or renewable energy purchasing, reducing waste and reviewing supply chains covering areas including food, laundry and guest amenities.
Radisson has also worked with Swedish sustainability business Klimato on low-carbon food menus covering breakfast, in-room dining and meetings and events.
Dishes are given carbon ratings from A to E, with the group saying menu redevelopment can reduce recipe carbon footprints by up to 40%.
Each participating property is independently verified by TÜV Rheinland against the Net Zero Methodology for Hotels.
Inge Huijbrechts, Chief Sustainability & Security Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “With four additional launches in Stockholm and Copenhagen, our Verified Net Zero program continues to gain momentum.
“We now have nine Verified Net Zero Hotels across the Nordics and the UK, proving that net zero hospitality is no longer a concept or a pilot—it is a scalable reality.
“By bringing the program to some of the region’s most important meetings and events venues, we are helping corporate customers, meeting planners and guests reduce the footprint of travel and events without compromising on quality, flexibility or scale.”
The four properties join Radisson’s growing Verified Net Zero portfolio as the group works towards reaching 100 hotels by the end of the decade.
