Carmel Valley Ranch has appointed Tom Wolf as Managing Director, with responsibility for operations and commercial strategy at the 500-acre resort on California’s Central Coast.

Wolf brings more than 40 years of hospitality experience, much of it spent with Hyatt across hotel and resort operations in the US and Caribbean.
He began his Hyatt career as a reservations clerk before progressing through a series of senior leadership positions, including six General Manager roles.
Most recently, Wolf served as Managing Director of Hyatt Regency Seattle and Hyatt Olive 8.
Prior to this, he spent three years as Managing Director of A Seattle Collection by Hyatt, overseeing three properties.
Wolf also previously served as General Manager of Hyatt Regency Seattle, where he led the opening of the 1,260-room convention hotel and its first full year of operations.
His wider career includes leadership positions at Hyatt Regency Bellevue, Hyatt Regency Bethesda, Hyatt Regency Aruba, Grand Hyatt Washington and Park Hyatt Washington.
Wolf said: “Carmel Valley Ranch is truly a one-of-a-kind destination, from its beautiful natural setting to its thoughtful approach to the guest experience.
“I’m excited to join the talented team at The Ranch and build on its strong foundation, while continuing to create memorable experiences for guests and strengthen its position as a leading luxury destination on California’s Central Coast.”
Originally from Chicago, Wolf studied Business Management at DePaul University and Hotel/Restaurant Management at Michigan State University.
He has also held leadership and advisory roles with organisations including Visit Seattle, the Seattle Hotel Association, Downtown Seattle Association and Seattle Sports Commission.
In his new role, Wolf will oversee the resort’s operations and commercial strategy as Carmel Valley Ranch continues to develop its guest experience and wider hospitality offer.
