Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo has appointed Laurent Herschbach as General Manager, effective 1 October 2026.

Herschbach joins the Monaco hotel following a 30-year career at the Ritz Paris and succeeds Klaus Kabelitz, who served as Interim General Manager during the peak season.
He joined the Ritz Paris in 1997 and progressed from front desk roles through a series of senior positions spanning rooms, food and beverage and operations.
His roles included Director of Rooms, Director of Food and Beverage, Director of Operations and Hotel Director before becoming General Manager.
Herschbach is a graduate of the École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme du Luxembourg and has also completed hotel management studies at Cornell University and finance training at HEC Paris.
Commenting on his appointment, Herschbach said: “I am honoured to join Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo and to lead it into its next chapter.
“The hotel has a distinctive identity and a strong position in Monaco, and I look forward to working with its teams to build on this foundation while continuing to evolve the guest experience.”
His appointment follows a period of investment and transformation at Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo.
Over the past year, the hotel has unveiled 45 renovated rooms and suites designed by Jacques Garcia, providing a refreshed interpretation of the property’s established style.
The hotel also opened a new Guerlain Spa last summer, introducing redesigned wellbeing spaces and a new treatment menu.
Herschbach will take up the General Manager position on 1 October 2026.
