Auntie Anne’s is to open its 51st UK and Ireland store at St David’s Dewi Sant in Cardiff on 3 October, creating up to 10 jobs.

The opening forms part of the soft pretzel brand’s strategy to expand across high-footfall retail and leisure locations as it works towards a target of 100 UK and Ireland sites by 2030.
The Cardiff store will serve Auntie Anne’s hand-rolled pretzels, prepared and baked on site, alongside lemonade and a range of sweet and savoury products.
To mark the opening, the business will hold a Giant Pretzel Pulling Ceremony at 10.45am, followed by a free pretzel giveaway between 11am and midday.
Customers will also be able to purchase selected classic pretzels for £2 from Monday to Friday during the first three weeks of trading.
The new location follows the opening of Auntie Anne’s 50th UK and Ireland store at The Beacon shopping centre in Eastbourne in September.
Auntie Anne’s was founded at a Pennsylvania farmers’ market in 1988 and now operates more than 2,000 locations internationally.
Max Burton, Managing Director of Auntie Anne’s UK & Ireland, said: “We’re delighted to be opening our new flagship store at St David’s and strengthening our presence in Cardiff. It’s a fantastic location in the heart of one of Wales’s busiest retail destinations and gives us another great platform to bring our freshly made pretzels to shoppers in the city.
“Reaching 51 stores is another positive step in our growth journey. As we work towards our ambition of 100 locations, we’re continuing to look for high-footfall destinations where our freshly made, treats-to-go proposition can really stand out.
“Cardiff is an important market for us and this new flagship will also help showcase the strength of the Auntie Anne’s offer to prospective franchise partners as we explore opportunities to grow further across Wales. We look forward to welcoming customers through the doors this weekend.”
