Mar-Bella Collection is expanding into Crete for the first time with the addition of Cayo Exclusive Resort & Spa to its portfolio.

The 117-room resort in Plaka, Elounda will welcome guests under its new ownership from 22 April 2027.
Cayo joins Mar-Bella Collection’s existing properties MarBella, Nido and Avali in Corfu, alongside Elix on the Greek mainland.
Set across 35,600 sq m overlooking Spinalonga, the resort comprises rooms, suites and villas across 11 accommodation categories.
All accommodation has sea views, while the majority of rooms, suites and villas also include private pools.
Mar-Bella Collection plans to bring the property’s service and guest experience in line with its wider portfolio while retaining Cayo’s existing character and positioning.
Periklis Gompakis, Chief Commercial Officer at Mar-Bella Collection, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cayo to Mar-Bella Collection and to expand our footprint into Crete for the first time. Elounda is one of Greece’s most established luxury destinations and Cayo is a natural fit for our portfolio, sharing our commitment to authentic hospitality, exceptional locations and high-quality guest experiences.
“As we begin this new chapter, our focus will be on building on the resort’s strong foundations while introducing the service, experiences and thoughtful approach that guests have come to expect from Mar-Bella Collection, creating a resort that appeals to a wide range of travellers while preserving its distinctive character.”
Cayo Exclusive Resort & Spa has five restaurants and three bars alongside a spa.
Guest experiences include hiking, cycling, cooking classes, private cruises and excursions to destinations including Spinalonga and Agios Nikolaos.
The property also has a conference centre and wedding facilities.
Mar-Bella Collection plans to introduce a broader family offer, including dedicated adult-only and family zones and a new kids’ club to complement the resort’s existing playground.
The development is intended to broaden the property’s appeal to families while maintaining its established couples and luxury leisure market.
