Jersey Mike’s Confirms Argyll Street for First UK Restaurant

September 9, 2026

Jersey Mike’s has confirmed Argyll Street in London’s West End as the location of its first UK restaurant as the US sandwich chain begins its European expansion.

Jersey Mike’s Confirms Argyll Street for First UK Restaurant

The restaurant, located close to Oxford Circus, is scheduled to open in late autumn 2026 and will be followed by three further central London sites.

The initial four restaurants will establish Jersey Mike’s first UK presence before the business begins a wider rollout across the UK and Ireland.

The company plans to open hundreds of restaurants across the two markets as it develops its European operations.

Jersey Mike’s has grown from a single sandwich shop in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, to more than 3,300 locations across the US and Canada.

Founded in 1956, the brand specialises in made-to-order hot and cold subs.

Meats and cheeses are sliced in-store, vegetables are prepared fresh and bread is baked throughout the day.

Its established menu also includes subs prepared ‘Mike’s Way’, with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, an olive oil blend and spices.

The Argyll Street restaurant will introduce the existing US proposition to the UK rather than developing a separate format for the market.

The UK and Ireland expansion is being led by Jersey Mike’s Founder and Chairman Peter Cancro.

Cancro began working at the original sandwich shop at the age of 14 before buying the business when he was 17 and subsequently developing it into a national restaurant brand.

Peter Cancro, Founder and Chairman of Jersey Mike’s Subs, said: “Jersey Mike’s has always been about making a great sub, taking care of our customers and giving back to the communities we’re part of.

“I’m excited to bring that same spirit to the UK.

“We’ve spent decades building this brand in America, and now we’re ready to introduce a whole new audience to what we mean when we say ‘a Sub Above’.”

Jersey Mike’s was named the highest-rated US fast-food chain for customer satisfaction in the 2026 American Customer Satisfaction Index and ranked first in Entrepreneur’s Top 500 Franchise Companies.

Following the opening on Argyll Street, three further central London restaurants are expected to follow as the business establishes the platform for its broader UK and Ireland rollout.
