99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant is to make its UK debut this November with the opening of a flagship restaurant at 22 Park Lane in Mayfair.
The London restaurant will join an international portfolio spanning Madrid, Barcelona, Marbella, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Monaco, Rabat and Budapest.
Founded in Madrid in 2005 by brothers Fernando and Pedro de León, the group has developed its restaurants around contemporary Japanese cooking, combining traditional techniques with European influences.
Its Abu Dhabi restaurant has held a MICHELIN Star for three consecutive years, while its Abu Dhabi and Dubai restaurants received One Toque from Gault&Millau in 2024.
The group’s Rabat restaurant was awarded Two Toques by Gault&Millau in 2026 as part of the guide’s first edition in Morocco.
At Mayfair, the menu will centre on Japanese ingredients and techniques, including Atlantic bluefin tuna, alongside influences drawn from the founders’ travels and the group’s international development.
The venue will accommodate 85 seated guests across several spaces.
Its main dining room will provide 60 covers, alongside a 19-cover cabaret bar restricted to guests aged 21 and over and a four-seat sushi counter offering chef-led preparation.
The restaurant will also be able to accommodate up to 185 guests for cocktail receptions and private events.
Outdoor terraces will feature bonsai installations, while the main interiors will incorporate mirrored surfaces, gold detailing, velvet finishes and amber lighting.
The Mayfair opening comes as the group continues its international expansion under Group CEO Jaime Castañeda.
Castañeda has more than 18 years’ experience in international hospitality and has overseen the brand’s recent development across Europe and the Gulf region.
The London launch follows the group’s opening at The St. Regis Budapest, with a further restaurant planned for Doha.
