Only A Pavement Away Receives £6,000 Donation to Fund Employment Programme

The funding comprises a £3,000 donation from Bidfood, matched by a further £3,000 from the Royal Warrant Holders’ Charity.

Only A Pavement Away supports people facing or at risk of homelessness, prison leavers and others experiencing barriers to employment, helping them access opportunities within the hospitality industry.

The donation will fund six places on its Passport 2 Employment programme, a five-day initiative combining employability training with practical experience of working in hospitality.

Programmes are hosted at hospitality venues including Hilton and Brasserie Zedel and incorporate employability workshops, venue tours, masterclasses and hands-on work experience.

The charity is planning to have delivered six Passport 2 Employment programmes by the end of 2026, supporting a total of 48 candidates.

Greg Mangham, Founder and Voluntary CEO of Only A Pavement Away, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Bidfood and the Royal Warrant Holders’ Charity for their generous support of our Passport 2 Employment programme.

“Donations like this one directly fund life-changing opportunities for people looking to rebuild their lives through work in hospitality.

“It’s this kind of partnership with the industry that allows us to keep opening doors for our candidates.”

Only A Pavement Away said all graduates of the Passport 2 Employment programme report feeling more confident in their ability to succeed at interview and secure employment after completing the course.
