Sutherland brings more than 17 years’ experience in luxury hospitality and was a member of the original pre-opening teams for both NoMad New York and NoMad London.

He was involved in the launch of NoMad New York in 2012 before later joining the London property ahead of its opening in 2021.

As Director of Sales & Marketing at NoMad London, Sutherland was responsible for the hotel’s commercial strategy from launch.

During the property’s inaugural year, he also took on the position of Interim General Manager, leading hotel operations alongside his commercial responsibilities.

Most recently, Sutherland was Director of Sales & Marketing at Park Hyatt London River Thames.

He joined the property ahead of its opening and led commercial pre-opening activity for what was Park Hyatt’s first hotel in the UK and Ireland.

His responsibilities included building the hotel’s commercial team and developing advance demand ahead of its launch.

Sutherland now returns to NoMad London to oversee the hotel’s operations, team and guest experience as the property enters its next phase.

He said: “Some places stay with you, and NoMad London has always been one of them.

“Having been part of the hotel’s opening journey, it’s a privilege to return as General Manager.

“This is a hotel with an incredible team, a unique spirit and a reputation for creating unforgettable experiences, and I’m excited to continue building on that success together.”

NoMad London is located in Covent Garden within the Grade II-listed former Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station, opposite the Royal Opera House.

The hotel comprises 91 rooms and suites alongside restaurants, bars and event spaces within the restored historic building.
