Buttercup Pudding Bar to Open First Standalone Manchester Site

August 24, 2026

Manchester dessert brand Buttercup Pudding Bar is to open its first standalone site in the city this autumn following the conclusion of its nine-month residency at Deansgate General Store.

The move marks the latest stage in the development of the business, which founder Natasha Black launched as a home-based project in July 2025.

Since launching, Buttercup says it has served around 50,000 puddings, staged sell-out pop-ups across Manchester and built a social media community of more than 10,000 followers.

Its residency at Deansgate General Store introduced a build-your-own pudding bar format centred around its signature banana pudding alongside changing flavours and toppings.

Buttercup’s final day at Deansgate General Store will be Bank Holiday Monday, 31 August.

For its final week at the venue, Sticky Cornflake & Raspberry and Biscoff Tiramisu will be available alongside the Classic Banana Pudding.

Black said: “This feels like the perfect step for Buttercup. It’s been such a pleasure to call General Store home for the past nine months, and I’m so grateful to the team there for helping us grow into what we are today.

“But as we continue to grow, now feels like the right time for us to step out on our own. I can’t wait for people to see what we’ve been working on and bring Buttercup to life in our own place!”

The new standalone venue will introduce additional pudding flavours and an updated toppings selection, including cookie dough bites and brownies.

A new drinks menu is also in development, while rotating specials will continue to introduce different flavours and toppings throughout the year.

Buttercup also plans to continue working with other Manchester food businesses through collaborations.

Its most recent partnership was with pizza operator Nell’s, which transformed Buttercup’s Sticky Cornflake & Raspberry pudding into a limited-edition gelato.

Further details on the location and opening date of Buttercup’s first permanent site are expected to be announced ahead of its autumn launch.
