Browns Brasserie & Bar in West India Quay Reopens Following Renovation

July 24, 2026

Browns Brasserie & Bar has reopened its West India Quay site following an extensive renovation.

The Mitchells & Butlers premium casual dining brand has refurbished the 467-cover venue, which is housed within a Grade I listed former sugar warehouse in Canary Wharf.

Overlooking the waterfront, the refurbishment blends the building’s maritime heritage with the modern architecture for which the area is known.

The redesign also introduces a contemporary new look that reflects Browns’ premium style.

Original steelwork and exposed brickwork have been retained and integrated with warm contemporary finishes to create a stylish all-day dining destination.

The redesigned space features statement wallpaper, leather seating, a polished brass back bar and bespoke lighting.

Updated planting, artwork and mirror panelling have also been introduced.

Outside, the 254-cover terrace has been updated with a new outdoor bar and retractable roof, creating an all-season waterside space.

The lower ground floor has also been redesigned into the Cellar Bar.

The 50-cover seated private dining and meeting space includes its own private bar.

The enhanced area will support Browns’ corporate and events offer, while strengthening its appeal to the wider Canary Wharf business community.

Laszlo Szaraz, General Manager at Browns West India Quay, said: “The renovation marks an exciting new chapter for one of our flagship locations.

“The redesign strengthens our premium all-day proposition, creating a more versatile space for a range of occasions, from corporate meetings and business groups to relaxed dining and social gatherings, all whilst preserving the character and architectural heritage of the site.”

Michelle Franklin, General Manager at West India Quay, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Browns Brasserie & Bar back following its extensive refurbishment.

“This significant investment demonstrates the brand’s continued confidence in West India Quay and supports our commitment to providing visitors with an outstanding choice of places to eat, drink and socialise.”

Open daily from breakfast through to dinner, Browns West India Quay’s menus focus on fresh, seasonal dishes alongside British brasserie classics.

The drinks menu features contemporary, classic and champagne cocktails, a curated wine and beer list, and premium no- and low-alcohol options.

Browns currently operates 27 restaurants across the UK, including five sites in London at locations such as Covent Garden, Victoria and Butler’s Wharf.

Browns Brasserie & Bar West India Quay is now open.
