By Angela Green: Anthony Demetre to launch Bistrot at Wild Honey St James.
Bistrot at Wild Honey will launch on 27 April 2024. The ‘little sister’ to Michelin-starred restaurant Wild Honey St James on Pall Mall, Bistrot is inspired by the ‘bistronomy’ movement in Europe over the last decade. Chef Anthony Demetre has devised a seasonally-changing, accessible menu and wine/drinks list with a strong French emphasis.
This new culinary addition to Wild Honey at five-star hotel Sofitel London St James will be casual but just as impressive. Guests can drop-in for a glass of wine or cocktail with charcuterie and snacks after work, an informal business lunch, ideal pre/post-theatre dining, or a convivial evening with friends. Whether at the counter, ideal for solo diners, or on one of the richly-coloured red leather banquettes, the mood is all about the quality of the welcoming hospitality and great food and drink.
Typical dishes include:
Snacks
Charcuterie – Coppa or Finocchiona
Cheese & ham croquettes
Whipped cod’s roe & grilled flatbread
Maldon oysters
Selection of French & British cheeses
(Note: ‘Cinq à Sept’ daily – 5 pm-7 pm – a glass of wine & choice of croquettes £9)
Starters

Provençal sweet peppers, green sauce & chapelure

There will be over 25 wines available by the bottle (from £29 for white, red and rosé), carafe (500ml from £19), glass (from £6), and Coravin (from £20). The selection is predominantly European, plus there will be a range of signature and classic cocktails, including Anthony’s own creation, “I am very specific with my Negroni”, which is a favourite at Wild Honey. (The full wine list from Wild Honey will also be available upon request.)
Bistrot at Wild Honey is adjacent to the restaurant Wild Honey St James, on its lower level, and will be open daily from noon to 10.30 pm (Sunday 9.30pm).
