City Cruises, a leading provider of sightseeing and dining experiences on the river Thames, has celebrated a group of graduates who have successfully completed the Employability Program by Women in Travel, a non-profit organisation that supports talented women in the travel industry. The program, which provides women with training, mentoring and support in the travel industry, has seen the graduates acquire the necessary skills and confidence to excel in their careers and is helping them take the next step in their careers.

As a staunch supporter of Women in Travel and its mission to increase gender diversity in the travel industry, City Cruises hosted the graduates for the Lunch Cruise on the River Thames. During the cruise, the women enjoyed a delicious two-course lunch whilst admiring the breath-taking views of London’s famous attractions from the water.

The event provided the perfect platform for the graduates to network and meet City Cruises’ Global Talent Acquisition Specialist, Georgette Dyer, who gave them an insight into the company’s culture and work environment.

Kyle Haughton, CEO of City Cruises said: “Hosting the female graduates from the Women in Travel Employability Program was a great success and allowed the attendees onboard to experience our Lunch Cruise whilst celebrating all their hard efforts in completing the program. The program’s vision aligns with City Cruise’s commitment to support women in travel and increase gender diversity in the industry and we hope this is just the start of working with Women in Travel.”

City Cruises has a strong commitment to promoting female leadership and supporting women’s career growth. The company has several case studies of women who have successful careers at City Cruises, including Carol Scott, Regional Director at City Cruises’ Poole and Joanne Dykes, the Head of Fleet & Waterway Operations of City Cruises’ York, who both achieved record revenue of over in 2022.

The Women in Travel Employability Program has been instrumental in empowering women in the travel industry by providing them with the necessary skills and confidence to excel in their careers. City Cruises is proud to be associated with the program and looks forward to supporting Women in Travel future initiatives.
