By Angela Green: Harrow embraces cashless, wheelchair accessible, street food market.
Market Place Harrow has celebrated a successful launch with strong visitor numbers following the opening on at the beginning of April.
Almost 5,000 of the borough’s foodies visited Harrow’s new street food venue in its first week, to sample the diverse selection of street food on offer.
The opening revealed Harrow to be a region of stir-fry lovers, with Pepper Spice’s brilliant boxes crowned as the most popular dish. The popular vendor offers foodies a chance to feast upon authentic Cantonese flavours and choose from noodles or rice to build their own personalised box, complete with a choice of protein, sauce, and extras.
As for Harrow’s favoured drinking options? Peroni led the way for beers sold, while the Market Place ‘Tropicali’ picked second spot and the coveted title of most popular cocktail.
The 300-capacity venue offers a mouthwatering selection of street food from around the world from eight permanent traders. The line-up includes the third physical location for Sides by The Sidemen, serving fried chicken burgers, tenders, and wings.
Sweet and savoury vendors at the market also include Bread Ahead Bakery, Chaii & Spice, Argentinian Grill, Farm House Kebab, Little Tokyo and Chelo along with a vibrant bar, serving cocktails, beers, freshly squeezed juice, coffee and more.
Blake Henderson, managing director of Market Place London, said: “We’re so pleased with the success of the launch of our newest venture in Harrow.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped make this launch possible, and we look forward to welcoming even more visitors through our doors over the coming months.”
Located at 80-84 St Ann’s Road, HA1 1JX, Market Place Harrow is open Monday to Sunday from 11.00am ‘til late and accepts bookings.
