By Angela Green, Content Executive, H&C News: Hotel Brooklyn, Leicester opens.
Hotel Brooklyn, Leicester has opened this week and appointed Chris Harrington to the role of Hotel Manager.
Previously Harrington was Hotel Manager with Viking Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line as well as Deputy GM at Crewe Hall.
Harrington said of his appointment: “I’m relishing the opportunity to set Hotel Brooklyn Leicester to sail, it’s exciting and a really ambitious project.”
A sister to the multi-award-winning Hotel Brooklyn, Manchester, the new Leicester hotel is adjacent to the Welford Road Stadium, home of the famous Leicester Tigers rugby team, and like its older sibling is inspired by the New York Borough, with an industrial aesthetic, impressive atrium and exposed brickwork. The hotel will have 191 bedrooms, and The Lair will be the hub of the hotel, with an open plan bar, restaurant and vibrant living space.
True to the Brooklyn brand, superb design and access for all and careful thought to anyone needing special care will be at the centre of the hotel’s philosophy. As with Manchester this hotel really does push the boundaries for what a hotel should be offering as ‘the norm’ across all of its facilities – for guests and staff alike.
Hotel Brooklyn, Leicester is proud to have established a relationship with Leicester College to provide a pipeline to hospitality employment, and with over 400 applicants for its full roster of 78 jobs, the new hotel’s team will be fighting fit for its fittingly-timed opening on 4th July.
“The opening of Hotel Brooklyn, Leicester is probably more exciting than opening our first hotel in Manchester”, commented Paul Bayliss MBE, Regional General Manager of the Hotel Brooklyn Brand.”
