The Vineyard in Stockcross, near to Newbury in Berkshire has come up with an innovative recruitment idea to attract Chefs to join their brigade. They are inviting chefs to enjoy a complimentary taste of what they serve guests, champagne, canapés, and a four course lunch.
On arrival Chefs hopeful of securing a position with the Vineyard’s Brigade will be served champagne and canapés, followed by lunch where they can discuss career opportunities with Executive Chef Tom Scade.
Tom Scade was appointed Executive Chef at The Vineyard in March 2019, joining from The Ritz London where he is Sous Chef to John Williams MBE.
Paul Shanahan, General Manager, The Vineyard explained the idea telling us: “We want to provide a platform where by Chefs of all levels can come and experience The Vineyard and speak with the team with no obligation to see if this would be somewhere they would consider working.
“They will get to chat with Tom and his team and find out what it’s like and get a feel for the kitchens and see what we do and get the opportunity to ‘Try before you buy’.
“We are proud of what we do and want to open our doors to show what we’re about and give Chefs the opportunity to see it for themselves before engaging in any conversation.
“If they felt it was for them and wanted to pursue things further then Tom will follow up afterwards.
“Tom is a great chef and has learnt from the best in his career and has a lot to offer in terms of development, growth and providing a stable environment to work in with opportunity and great team to be part of.
