The Ritz-Carlton Abama launches American steakhouse concept

The Ritz-Carlton Abama opens the doors to a brand new authentic steakhouse experience, offering guests yet another delectable dining choice just in time for Christmas. 20/20 inspired by a menu featuring the finest selection of 20 meats and 20 sophisticated wine categories will make a fine addition to the leading European resort’s gastronomic stable of ten exceptional restaurants.

Located in the heart of The Ritz-Carlton, Abama’s Citadel and flanked by the resort’s quintessential Moorish architecture, 20/20 offers a contemporary space transporting guests to a warehouse-style location steeped in urban trans-Atlantic vibes. A refined industrial concept will combine a classic steakhouse experience with interiors comprising natural wood and steal accents, copper walls and dark buttery banquettes.

Diners will be presented with a categorised menu spanning classic steak cuts, meticulously sourced from the very best farms in regions including Uruguay, Nebraska and the Spanish territory of Galicia. On the chef’s recommendation, the restaurant’s signature Porterhouse Steak is set to impress, served with one of 20/20’s mouth-watering house sauces. With Chef de Cuisine Iratxe Bocigas at the helm, and in line with The Ritz-Carlton Abama’s renowned gastronomic standards, 20/20 will combine provenance and quality of ingredients with craftsmanship, method and performance, cooking its meats on an open grill with natural charcoal and wood.

20/20 will also offer cuts from Iberian pork, handcrafted Spanish sausages and grilled local fish, providing diners with a lighter option. All main dishes will be complemented by an innovative collection of sides. In addition to classic fries and smashed potatoes, the menu breaks from tradition with quinoa, mint-lemon glazed parsnips and side orders adding a Canary Island twist, including wrinkled potatoes, mojo and a Canarian sofrito.

To enhance the bold flavours of every meat dish, a wine-pairing of 20 red wines are carefully sourced from the most powerful vineyards across the globe, spanning Mendoza, Argentina, McLaren Valley, Australia and Lebanon, Spain, Italy and France.

Open every day from 6pm for dinner reservations, 20/20 will offer a candle lit culinary oasis. In January 2017, 20/20 will be joined by another newcomer with the re-opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Abama’s Italian restaurant, Verona, introducing a menu of exquisite and authentic Italian cuisine.
