Stonegate Pub Company has launched its latest career development initiative for employees: a Post Graduate Management Diploma in Multi-Unit Leadership course.
Three central heads of department and seven area managers have been offered the opportunity to obtain the qualification, an established course linked to Birmingham City University. The fourteen month course covers four modules: strategy, finance and sales, leading service and change, and operational improvement & innovation.
Nicky Hines, Head of Financial Control at Stonegate Pub Company said, “This is a superb opportunity for me to broaden my business perspective and gain further operational knowledge and understanding. It is already making me think about my own development, what my team can deliver, and has given me new ideas of how as a team we can stretch to improve. From a personal point of view, now is the perfect timing for this new and exciting challenge.”
Personal development
Stonegate Pub Company’s Head of Learning and Development, Lee Woolley said: “This course is yet another we have developed within Stonegate to offer our employees, in this case senior managers, personal development opportunities leading to career progression. The qualification requires four in depth case studies and both individual and team projects over the period. Less than a month in and I have been hugely impressed with the level of commitment, quality of work and thinking delivered by those on the course.”
