Hospitality and catering specialists Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events has announced a record winter season in 2015 at Aberdeen Football Club.
Despite the economic difficulties being faced by the city, the venue at Pittodrie hosted more than three times as many private Christmas events compared to 2014 and its ‘bring a party to a party’ nights also saw a boost in guest numbers compared with the previous year.
One of the key factors contributing to the successful festive season was the re-brand of 2015’s Christmas and Hogmanay events which saw the introduction of a ‘Black & Gold’ theme.
Debra Lorimer, Sales Manager at Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, said: “We have had our best winter season in five years and have managed to grow our business, despite the wider economic challenges being experienced in the city.
“Harking back to the Football Club’s heritage and its original kit colours, we rebranded our festive events in 2015 as ‘Black & Gold; party nights, creating a glamorous theme which our guests really bought into, with many even choosing to dress in black and gold.
“We also proactively highlighted our private festive party packages to anyone enquiring about Christmas, outlining the bespoke options available and the wide-range of budgets we could cater for, this really paid off.
“The party packages were excellent value for money and feedback has been fantastic with guests even getting in touch the morning after our Hogmanay bash to say how much they had enjoyed the event.”
Hoping to grow on last year’s success, Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events is freezing the cost of its Christmas packages in 2016 and is offering a number of early bird deals, including giving one free place to every table of ten booked by 31st March.
Debra added: “So far we’ve had enquiries from a number of large organisations who have all been recommended by word of mouth.”
