D&D London has announced the launch of a new events and outside catering business in a joint venture with Lena Björck and has unveiled a new brand identity, Alexander & Björck.
Lena Björck, who is spearheading the launch of Alexander & Björck as Managing Director, brings career-long sector expertise, having built a £2m catering business which she sold last year. Her award-winning track record includes catering for the Swedish Royal Family; at the American ambassador’s residence in London for an official visit by Bill Clinton; at the Paris Air Show; and – last but not least – during the 2012 Diamond Jubilee, at a banquet attended by Her Majesty the Queen and Commonwealth Heads of Government, hosted by the Commonwealth Secretary-General at Marlborough House.
Working out of their brand new kitchens in Chelsea, Alexander & Björck run large-scale corporate events up to 500 guests as well as intimate parties, creating high-end events through the finest design, production and planning. Offering a range of modern European menus with a Scandinavian influence (Lena is Swedish), Alexander & Björck are experts in sourcing distinctive event venues, ranging from established art galleries to historical sites.
Des Gunewardena, CEO & Chairman of D&D London, said: “I have known Lena for many years. She is bringing to D&D the entrepreneurial drive needed to make Alexander & Björck a great success. Lena will work closely with Mark Ivackovic, our Sales Director, who continues to oversee sales within D&D venues”.
Lena Björck adds: “I am really excited about embarking on this new challenge. The combination of my experience in running events and D&D’s expertise in developing successful businesses will make a great partnership.”
D&D London’s events company Cinnamon Candy, launched in 2011, has been folded into this new joint venture.
