Restaurant and agave bar MXO has opened in London’s Euston Square – offering an all-day, Mexican-inspired menu.
Located next to Euston Square Station, formerly home to VQ, the venue offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a late-night bar serving agave-based cocktails and drinks.
MXO is one of London’s first all-day restaurant and agave bars. The restaurant takes inspiration from Mexican food and culture and menus have been created using flavours and ingredients typically found in Mexican cuisine.
Guests will be able to enjoy familiar Mexican dishes, alongside newer variations developed by the talented kitchen team, with produce sourced from British and specialist Mexican suppliers.
The restaurant serves Mexican favourites such as tacos, tostadas and chicken al pastor, as well as lamb shank barbecoa, and brisket en adobo.
The agave bar is offering a wide range of agave-based cocktails, as well as wines from Mexico and South America.
As well as a 50-seater restaurant, MXO will also be launching two private dining rooms hosting up to 10 and 12 people.
Overseeing the menu will be head chef Santiago Gomez Marrero, who has previously worked under Lalo Garcia of Pujol and Adriana Cavita at Peyotito London, as well as a stint at Bodega Negra. Sous chef Alkendri Pimentel Ortiz has extensive experience across European (French & Spanish) cuisine having worked at Copita and Escocessa.
The restaurant is being launched by Arya Razi, owner of Caldera Mexican restaurant in Hackney, and business partner Humzah Butt.
Razi said: “I’m really pleased to be opening MXO. Not only are we excited about the food, which will offer guests something familiar and different all at once, but we can’t wait to showcase our extensive selection of agave-based signature mezcal and tequila based cocktails.”
