Bellavita Expo, the largest Italian food and wine trade show in the UK, will be showcasing some of Italy’s most exciting and unusual ‘free from’ products at this year’s Expo taking place on the 18th-20th June, including pastas, sauces, breads, cakes and confectionery.
With an enormous rise in diners and customers choosing ‘free from’ products including gluten or lactose free, and in the increase in followers of vegetarian and vegan diets, ‘free-from’ products are becoming increasingly essential in the UK hospitality and grocery industries.
Casanova Food are the creators of Italy’s first top quality gluten free pasta, Pasta di Venezia, which includes a full range of both flat and filled pastas with incredible flavour “exactly like grandma used to do at home!”. Their products are also completely organic which means they are also certified as ‘BIO’.
Other gluten free products at the show include ‘Compagnia del Pesto Genovese’ an artisanal gluten-free Italian Basil pesto. ‘Fraccaro Spumadoro SPA’ has created the first Organic Gluten-free Panettone and Organic Gluten-free Colomba made with natural yeast. With Pannetone being the most popular and traditional Italian gift and dessert to buy around Easter and Christmas, this is an important advancement which reflects the needs of the modern customer.
‘Fidani SRL’ goes a step further by creating fine baked, hand cut sweets that are both lactose free and gluten free and vegan using no chemical preservatives, additional emulsifiers, palm oils or margarines. Other key ‘free-from’ confectionary products include vegan cakes made by the famous Toschi family. Established since the mid-80s, this much loved family bakery have begun to create cakes especially for the vegan market using no palm oil or margarines whilst retaining incredible, Italian flavour.
Aldo Mazzocco, CEO of Bellavita Expo comments, “We pride ourselves on seeking out the most innovative independent Italian producers to bring their latest products to the UK. ‘Free from’ is of huge importance in the UK and Bellavita Expo is the ideal platform for producers to showcase them.”
