Customers of the popular Ocean Palace Restaurant were delighted at the prospect of enjoying their favourite Chinese meals once again when the Sandbanks Hotel in Poole took the original kitchen and front of house team from Ocean Palace under its waters’ edge wing!
Initially set out as a fashionably desirable ‘pop-up’ restaurant in the beach-side Compass Room in the Sandbanks Hotel, Ocean Palace has now a permanent home, a move that has been greeted with much enthusiasm and gratitude by the hundreds of customers including those that have enjoyed the authentic Asian cuisine for years in the original Bournemouth site, and those that are new to the brand and its new home.
General Manager of the Sandbanks Hotel, Andrew Woodland said: “The Ocean Palace ‘pop up’ concept worked so well for us during the summer months, with Chinese taster dishes on the terrace, or lunches, dinners and banquets in the restaurant, that we completely redesigned our kitchens, under the keen eye of Ping – Ocean palace’s manager, and invested in a traditional Chinese kitchen with elaborate wok and steaming facilities.
“With that move came the decision to make the restaurant a permanent fixture – and that has been greeted so positively. We are working on a business lunch menu, Christmas bookings are fabulous and we are all looking forward to 2017 – the year of the Rooster!”
Ocean Palace Chinese Restaurant is now in-house in the Sandbanks Hotel on the famous Sandbanks peninsula, and is one of the four locally owned FJB Group of hotels, which employs over 350 staff in its Poole and Bournemouth.
