Principals Catering, the education arm of catering specialist Harbour & Jones, which provides healthy and nutritious meals to schools in the South East, today announces a series of new contract wins for the business, representing a 38% growth in terms of contracts and additional annual turnover of £2.6m compared with the previous year.
The 56 new contract wins began in August 2016 for an initial three-year period with two year and one year extensions also available to the schools. The wins mean Principals is now catering for 135 schools across the South East.
Rob Gallagher, Acting Head Teach at Hever Primary School, one of the newly awarded schools for Principals, commented: “The transition has been smooth and there has been an uptake in the amount of children taking hot dinners. The staff have been friendly and hard-working and the children have appeared to enjoy eating their food.”
Nathan Jones, Co-founder and Director at Harbour & Jones, added: “These contracts are a testament to the strength of the Principals offering and we are delighted with the retention of our existing business and this significant growth in our schools catering business. This lays a solid foundation for our further expansion in new markets and regions. We are very confident in our strategy for growth within the education market and are excited to see what the future holds for Principals.”
