Wildhive Eshott Hall has appointed Ewan Taylor as General Manager ahead of its opening in Northumberland in December 2026.

Taylor will lead the hotel’s pre-opening team, overseeing recruitment, training and operational preparations ahead of launch.
Following the opening, he will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the property and management of its heads of department.
Taylor joins Wildhive Eshott Hall following almost two decades working in luxury hospitality across Asia, with experience in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia.
Most recently, he served as General Manager of Oriental Residence Bangkok.
His career has included hotel openings and repositioning projects spanning heritage townhouses and island resorts, alongside work with designer Bill Bensley and chef Nicolas Isnard.
In 2024, Taylor was named among the Top Five Hotel General Managers in Cambodia at the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific.
Taylor said: “I’m delighted to be joining Wildhive Eshott Hall after almost twenty years working in Asia. It’s a house with real character in a beautiful corner of Northumberland, and opening it with a team who care as much as this one does is a rare opportunity. I’m looking forward to welcoming our first guests.”
Ed Burrows, Managing Director of The Wildhive Collection, said: “Ewan’s career has been built on the same values as The Wildhive Collection’s reputation, and he brings real experience of hotel openings. His background in a boutique group will be valuable as The Wildhive Collection expands.
“Charles and I, along with the senior management team, are excited to welcome Ewan, his knowledge will help us maintain and grow our reputation as one of the best boutique hotel groups in England.”
Taylor will now lead preparations for the December launch as The Wildhive Collection continues to develop its boutique hotel portfolio.
