Fonab Castle has appointed Julie Williams Wilson as General Manager, bringing more than 20 years of hospitality and hotel management experience to the five-star Perthshire property.
Williams Wilson joins the Crerar Hotels Group following six years in senior leadership positions with Hotel Co. 51.
Most recently, she served as Cluster General Manager, overseeing a portfolio of lifestyle hotels operating under Marriott brands alongside destination bar and restaurant concepts.
Her responsibilities have spanned hotel operations, commercial performance, sales and marketing, finance, HR, recruitment, training and development, food and beverage and guest services.
Williams Wilson has held senior management positions across the hotel and hospitality industry since 2003.
Her career also includes experience in hotel openings and refurbishment projects across the UK and Europe.
While at Hotel Co. 51, she was involved in the openings of Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge and AC Hotel by Marriott Inverness, working with the properties and their teams through the launch process.
At Fonab Castle in Pitlochry, Williams Wilson will oversee hotel operations, support the existing team and focus on maintaining and developing the guest experience.
Her appointment follows a period of food and beverage development at the hotel.
Fonab Castle recently relaunched its 1892 Grill in partnership with John Gilmour Butchers and Executive Head Chef Paul Tyrrell, while the new Sandemans Bar has also opened within the castle.
Williams Wilson said: “Right away, I knew that Fonab Castle was such a special property, I couldn’t wait to get started and join the Crerar Hotels family and the Pitlochry community.
