Shangri-La Group has appointed Hakan Ozel as Vice President, Operations, overseeing three of the group’s European hotels.
His remit will cover Shangri-La The Shard, London, Shangri-La Paris and Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul.
Ozel brings more than 28 years of international hospitality experience, including more than two decades with Shangri-La Group.
His background spans luxury hotel operations and strategic leadership across a range of international markets.
Most recently, Ozel served as Vice President, Operations for the Middle East and General Manager of Shangri-La Dubai.
In that role, he was responsible for areas including hotel operations, commercial performance and the development of the property’s guest experience.
His wider career with the group has included senior leadership positions across Asia and the Middle East.
Commenting on his appointment, Hakan Ozel said:

In his new role, Ozel will focus on operational performance and commercial development across the three hotels.
He will also work with the individual property teams on the continued development of Shangri-La’s guest experience across London, Paris and Istanbul.
