Preferred Hotels & Resorts has expanded its Legend Collection with the addition of 11 properties during 2026, extending its representation across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The additions take the Legend Collection to more than 125 hotels and resorts worldwide and include established properties alongside a number of new openings.
Among the additions are San Clemente Palace Venice, located on its own island in the Venetian Lagoon, Dusit Thani Bangkok and The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary in India.
The portfolio has also welcomed Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Nevada, MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites in Lisbon, BLESS Hotel Barcelona, BLESS Ibiza The Site, Serras Sevilla and The Cooper in Charleston.
Palais Jamaï Fès in Morocco is scheduled to open in October 2026, while Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, is due to open in spring 2027.
Preferred Hotels & Resorts said the expansion reflects changing preferences among luxury travellers, with greater emphasis being placed on individual experiences, destination culture, nature, food and distinctive city stays.
“Today’s luxury traveller is not looking for one prescribed idea of the perfect hotel. They are seeking experiences that speak to their individual interests, whether that means reconnecting with nature, engaging with a destination’s cultural heritage, discovering a new culinary perspective, or experiencing an iconic city from a more personal point of view,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. “The latest additions to our Legend Collection reflect this shift while sharing the distinctive character that make each of them a legendary hotel.”
Several of the additions have a particular focus on their surrounding destination and cultural heritage.
Dusit Thani Bangkok incorporates Thai-inspired design and hospitality traditions, while Palais Jamaï Fès occupies a restored late 19th-century palace overlooking the historic city of Fès. Serras Sevilla, which opened in September, is located in the centre of Seville.
Nature-led properties are also represented within the expansion. The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary opened in July within 76 acres of forest in India’s Western Ghats, while Edgewood Tahoe Resort is located on the shores of Lake Tahoe and holds LEED Silver certification.
The portfolio’s city additions include MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites in Lisbon’s Baixa Pombalina district and BLESS Hotel Barcelona on Passeig de Gràcia.
The Cooper, which opened in Charleston in March, combines waterfront accommodation with access to the historic South Carolina city, while BLESS Ibiza The Site opened in June.
Wynn Al Marjan Island will become one of the collection’s largest forthcoming properties when it opens in the UAE in spring 2027. The integrated resort is planned to include a 70-storey tower containing more than 1,500 rooms and suites, more than 20 food and beverage venues, a beach club, marina, gardens and swimming pools.
The 11 properties joining the Legend Collection during 2026 are:
