IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Hotel Indigo has reached 200 open hotels worldwide, doubling the brand’s global portfolio since 2019.

Hotel Indigo 200 hotels

Hotel Indigo had 100 operating hotels in 2019 and has since expanded across more than 30 countries, with a further 134 properties currently in its development pipeline.

The brand has also expanded across Europe, where it now has 55 open hotels and another 22 properties in development.

Launched in 2004, Hotel Indigo operates within IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, with individual properties designed around the culture, history and character of their surrounding neighbourhoods.

Vicki Poulos, Vice President, Luxury & Lifestyle brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Reaching 200 open hotels is a significant moment for Hotel Indigo and a testament to the strength of the brand. As The World’s Neighbourhood Hotel, it celebrates how guests can discover, or rediscover, some of the most inspiring and culturally rich neighbourhoods in and outside of our hotels across the world. From the very beginning, Hotel Indigo has been about celebrating the individuality of places, of people and of stories – and for our guests, it isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a reason to travel, a destination all on its own.”

Over the past two years, Hotel Indigo has entered a number of new markets, including the Caribbean with Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, Portugal with Hotel Indigo Albufeira and Peru with Hotel Indigo Lima Miraflores.

Recent expansion in the Americas has included the opening of Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos Grace Bay, the brand’s first property in Turks & Caicos.

Other additions include Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortes and Hotel Indigo Tijuana Downtown in Mexico, alongside Hotel Indigo Raleigh in North Carolina.

Across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, recent openings include Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor, Hotel Indigo Gloucester – The Forum and Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush.

The brand has also signed Hotel Indigo Phuket Nai Yang Beach in Thailand and its first property in Egypt. The Egyptian development will include Hotel Indigo’s first branded residences.

Hotel Indigo Riyadh Al Olaya is scheduled to open in 2027, marking the brand’s entry into Saudi Arabia.

Growth is also continuing in Greater China, where Hotel Indigo Ningbo has recently opened and further properties are planned in Chongqing and Jingdezhen.

The milestone forms part of wider growth across IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio and its international hotel estate.
