Greene King Pub Partners has recognised its franchisees at an awards ceremony held during a dedicated Franchise Festival at Leicester Racecourse.

More than 100 franchise partners attended the event, which brought together operators from Greene King’s Hive and Nest franchise concepts.
The afternoon Franchise Awards recognised pubs and operators across categories including community, food, digital, sport, operational excellence and franchise performance.
The King & Queen in Warrington was named Community Pub of the Year, while The Crown in Hazlemere received Food Pub of the Year.
The Two Poplars in Wokingham collected two awards, being named Digital Pub of the Year and Franchisee of the Year for the Hive format.
The Hay Nook in Maltby was named Sports Pub of the Year, The William Wallace in Stirling received Support Pub of the Year and The County Arms in Winchester collected Ops Excellence Pub of the Year.
The Star in Bristol was named New Franchisee of the Year, while The Snaffle Bit in Glasgow received Franchisee of the Year for the Nest concept.
The event also included a morning conference covering customer insights, events and experiences and preparations for the Christmas trading period.
A franchisee panel provided operators with an opportunity to discuss their experiences and share best practice.
The Franchise Festival also raised more than £4,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support through a raffle and silent auction.
Greene King operates two franchise formats through its Pub Partners division.
Nest Pubs are predominantly wet-led venues offering sport, entertainment and a simplified pizza menu, while Hive Pubs combine food and drink with entertainment and live sport in community locations.
Franchisees can enter the business from an initial cost of £3,000, covering agreement fees, induction and on-site training. Earnings are based on a percentage of food and drink sales, with further profit-sharing and performance-based bonus opportunities.
Penny Bruce, Franchise Operations Director for Greene King Pub Partners, said: “A huge congratulations to all of this year’s Franchise Award winners.
“These awards are about recognising the very best of our franchise partners – celebrating the operators who run great pubs and create brilliant experiences for their communities.
“Our Franchise Festival is a great chance to celebrate together as one team, to learn from each other’s success, and recognise the incredible growth of our franchise business – which continues to go from strength to strength.”
