MGallery Collection has expanded its portfolio in China with the opening of Financial City Chengdu – MGallery Collection, a 155-room hotel in the heart of Chengdu’s Financial City.

The opening marks MGallery’s third property in Chengdu and its tenth in China.
Designed by Australian practice Stack Studio, the hotel takes inspiration from Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ji’s Song of Chengdu and its imagery of wandering into a hidden lychee grove.
A century-old local lychee tree forms a focal point within the lobby, while a Sky Garden on the seventh floor introduces an outdoor landscaped space above the city.
The hotel comprises 155 guestrooms and suites, with interiors drawing on colours associated with Chengdu’s surrounding landscape, including river mist, mountain fog and crimson sunsets.
Food and beverage is centred around Lychee Restaurant, which serves local and international dishes, and Lychee Bar, offering cocktails and afternoon tea.
The Sky Garden provides an additional outdoor food and drink space featuring locally influenced flavours and drinks.
Facilities also include a fitness centre with panoramic windows and an outdoor terrace, together with approximately 480 sq m of flexible meetings and events space for corporate events, banquets and private functions.
Sustainability measures incorporated throughout the property include reduced use of single-use plastics, smart in-room energy management, energy-efficient building materials, water-saving fixtures and LED lighting.
The opening forms part of Accor’s continuing development across Western China.
The group has more than 230 operating hotels and over 140 properties under development across the region.
MGallery currently operates ten hotels in China and is targeting a doubling of its Greater China portfolio by 2030, with further properties planned in destinations including Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Sanya and Lanxi.
