Caffè Nero has appointed Alistair Boyd as Head of New Channels Development in the UK as the business looks to increase its presence beyond its traditional coffee house estate.

Boyd will focus on the development of Caffè Nero’s e-commerce, delivery, grocery, wholesale and workplace coffee channels.
His remit will include developing partnerships with retailers to increase the reach of the Caffè Nero brand outside its stores, alongside expanding partnerships for the group’s Aroma brand across wholesale, catering and workplace locations.
Boyd brings more than 15 years of experience in channel development across hospitality and beverage businesses.
His previous experience includes roles involving Starbucks, PepsiCo and Molson Coors, alongside retail and leisure experience with 20th Century Fox and John Lewis.
The appointment comes as Caffè Nero continues to develop its Coffee at Home business and wider non-store distribution.
The Nero Group reported record sales of £670 million for the year ending 31 May 2026, an increase of 8%, with UK Caffè Nero like-for-like sales rising 4.5%.
Lysa Hardy, CEO of Caffè Nero UK, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Alistair to the team. New Channels is a hugely important part of our growth ambition for Caffè Nero in the UK.
“We have built a strong business beyond our coffee houses, but there is much more opportunity ahead. Our ambition is to establish Caffè Nero Coffee at Home as a leading premium at-home coffee brand, while significantly growing our wholesale business through Aroma.
“Caffè Nero is known and loved for the quality of the coffee we serve in our coffee houses. We want to build on that strength and make our coffee available across many more occasions – at home, at work and on the go. Alistair’s appointment is an important step in accelerating that ambition.”
Boyd said: “It’s fantastic to be joining the Caffè Nero team. It’s a premium coffee brand, with an amazing reputation for coffee quality and great service.
“I’m excited to be joining an independent family-owned and run business, and I think we have huge potential to grow the new channels side of it. I can’t wait to get started.”
Caffè Nero’s Coffee at Home business has previously expanded through supermarket and online retail partnerships, including Waitrose and Amazon.
