Dublin hospitality group Bereen Brothers has partnered with Amsterdam-born hospitality brand The July to launch Onóra, a new all-day neighbourhood restaurant on Capel Street this November.

The partnership marks the first time brothers Conor and Marc Bereen have taken their restaurant operations north of the River Liffey.
Their existing portfolio includes Coppinger, Orwell Road, Row Wines and Charlotte Quay.
The Bereen Brothers are working alongside The July team on Onóra’s food and drink direction, service style and approach to hospitality.
“Developing Onóra in partnership with The July has allowed us to introduce their team to the incredible culinary scene we have here in Dublin, and across the island,” explains Marc. “Our shared vision is to create a great restaurant that adds something to the city’s dining culture – defined by exceptional produce, simple food, perfect execution and genuine hospitality. A place where locals and visitors come together and everyone belongs.”
Northern Ireland-born Head Chef Lauren Shimmin will lead the kitchen, working with The July and Bereen Brothers teams.
Lunch and dinner menus will focus on Irish produce through a European lens, with dishes changing according to seasonality.
Lunch options will include salt cod croquettes, mussels with fries and roast porchetta with salsa verde.
The evening menu will feature dishes including Carlingford oysters with shallot vinaigrette, tagliolini with crab, chilli and lemon, and whole grilled brill with capers and brown butter.
Later in the evening, Onóra will move towards a drinks-led offer, with classic and signature cocktails alongside a wine list sourced from smaller local distributors and Whiplash Brewery beer on tap.
The restaurant’s interiors have been developed as part of the wider design of The July Dublin.
The July’s in-house design team, led by Dublin-born Head of Design Caitriona McGachy, has worked with interior studio Fettle on the project.
The interiors will include references to Irish designer Eileen Gray alongside a collection of work from local artists.
The wider building holds BREEAM Excellent certification and incorporates an all-electric energy system, solar power and non-toxic materials.
General Manager of The July Dublin Melanie Nocher says:
“Capel Street has such a distinctive soul, energy, and rich history, making it the perfect home for Onóra at The July. We didn’t want to create just another hotel or another hotel restaurant; we wanted to build a genuine neighbourhood destination where guests and locals naturally come together – creating a space that feels comfortable, effortless, and alive from day one.”
